Savory Saffron Rice in a pinch

Savory Saffron Rice in a pinch

A quick, savory, and simple Saffron Rice dish we love to prepare just takes a few ingredients.
Let's give it a go!
Ingredients:
• 2 cups of white basmati or jasmine rice(whichever you prefer)
• 3 1/2 cups of vegetable stock (low sodium if available)
• 1/2 teaspoon of our Saffpro pure saffron threads (you will taste the difference!)
• 1/2 teaspoon of ground Turmeric
• 1/2 teaspoon of chili flakes (or similar dried chili seasoning)
• 1/2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
• 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt (low sodium preferably)
You will yield a total of 6 servings and it will take you approximately 30 minutes from start to finish.
How is that for quick and tasty!
Steps:
1. Add the 3 1/2 cups of vegetable stock to a medium sized pot and place on high heat on stove to start boiling.
2. As the vegetable stock starts to boil, start adding our pure saffron threads, ground turmeric, chili flakes, and lemon.
Stir gently...and enjoy the aroma!
3. Add your 2 cups of white basmati or jasmine rice plus the salt & stir.
Bring to a boil.
4. Cover the pot and set the stove to the low simmer setting.
5. Cook on low simmer for approximately 11 - 14 minutes or until you see the savory liquid has evaporated and has been soaked up by the rice.
6. Fluff the rice with a fork to see that most of the liquid is absorbed and turn off heat and cover again for 5 -8 minutes or so; keep pot on stovetop covered in the OFF setting to finish steaming the rice gently.
7. Fluff the rice again, taste to see if any additional salt is needed and voila! Enjoy!
